For the fourth consecutive year, Parador Resort & Spa passed the Certification for Sustainable Tourism Program offered by the Costa Rican Tourism Board with flying colors, receiving five leaves out of five.

Every year on September 14th, Costa Rican kids across the country light up the night with homemade lanterns to celebrate the eve of Independence Day. These lanterns symbolize the night the news of Independence from Spain reached Costa Rica via messengers who traveled throughout Central America carrying these faroles (small lanterns) to light their way.
To celebrate this special day we invited children from the Finca Anita Elementary School and the La Inmaculada Elementary School to participate in several cultural activities.
At a lavish ceremony at Villa Padiema Palace Hotel in Spain on the 28th of June 2013, Parador Resort & Spa was crowned as the only winner from Costa Rica to receive the prestigious Signum Virtutis - the Seal of Excellence – at the 2013 Seven Star Global Luxury Awards.
