Getting here, and getting around

The hotel runs its own ground transportation, so getting around Costa Rica is as easy as your stay with us, from the moment you land.

Parador can provide private ground transportation services to major tourist destinations, to and from Juan Santamaría International Airport, Quepos Regional Airport or to the destination of your choice. Enjoy exclusive private service in comfortable air-conditioned chauffeured minivans at your convenience.

A free shuttle runs from the resort to Manuel Antonio National Park and the beach on a fixed schedule. It stops only in front of Playa Espadilla and at the roundabout by the park entrance. Please reserve your space with Guest Services.

Parador guests are welcome at Miamar, our adults-only sister resort on Playa Espadilla, for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Reserve your table and the complimentary shuttle through the Front Desk or Guest Services. Beachfront Suites include the shuttle on request.

Taxis in town
For downtown Quepos, Marina Pez Vela or anywhere nearby, the front desk will call you a taxi. Local transportation is usually at the main entrance within 15 minutes.

Local Flights

Parador Nature Resort is located on the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica, in Manuel Antonio near the town of Quepos. We’re easily accessible from the capital of San José by air or road. A 20-minute domestic flight is very convenient, and the scenic 2 ½-hour-drive through the mountains and down the coast is well worth considering as part of an enjoyable journey.

Domestic airlines offer direct flights to Quepos Regional Airport from San José. Contact our reservations team if you'd like assistance with these bookings as well as a private shuttle to the property.

Orotina
Reach the town of Orotina less than an hour after leaving San José and heading West towards the Central Pacific coast on Highway 27. The town is famous for its tropical fruit festivals, and you will see multiple stalls where you can sample mangoes, avocados and cold coconut water. Apart from fresh fruit, they offer typical Costa Rican goodies.
Tárcoles River and Carara
The Tárcoles river is home to the largest population of crocodiles in Costa Rica. It’s a traditional must stop to snap some of the first (of many) wildlife photographs. Just South of the bridge is the Carara National Park, extremely rich in biodiversity due to its location bordering the river as well as a transitional forest from the beach up into the mountains.
Jacó
As you pass though the hills you will go through the bustling town of Jacó, well known as a surf destination. It offers varied dining and shopping options along its main drag, which is always busy with locals and visitors.
Parrita to Manuel Antonio
After about another half hour, you will drive through Parrita, a typical farmers’ town whose main source of income is agriculture. As you pass the palm plantations you will soon arrive in Quepos, where you can visit the Marina Pez Vela on one of your outings. From Quepos you will head up the hill towards Manuel Antonio, make a right at Plaza Vista Commercial Center, follow this winding road to the very end (about a mile) and you will see the sprawling grounds of our resort.
