How to get to Parador

Parador Nature Resort & Spa is located on the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica, in Manuel Antonio near the town of Quepos. We’re easily accessible from the capital of San José by air or road. A 20-minute domestic flight is very convenient, and the scenic 2 ½-hour-drive through the mountains and down the coast is well worth considering as part of an enjoyable journey.
Reach the town of Orotina less than an hour after leaving San José and heading West towards the Central Pacific coast on Highway 27. The town is famous for its tropical fruit festivals, and you will see multiple stalls where you can sample mangoes, avocados and cold coconut water. Apart from fresh fruit, they offer typical Costa Rican goodies.
The Tárcoles river is home to the largest population of crocodiles in Costa Rica. It’s a traditional must stop to snap some of the first (of many) wildlife photographs. Just South of the bridge is the Carara National Park, extremely rich in biodiversity due to its location bordering the river as well as a transitional forest from the beach up into the mountains.
As you pass though the hills you will go through the bustling town of Jacó, well known as a surf destination. It offers varied dining and shopping options along its main drag, which is always busy with locals and visitors.
After about another half hour, you will drive through Parrita, a typical farmers’ town whose main source of income is agriculture. As you pass the palm plantations you will soon arrive in Quepos, where you can visit the Marina Pez Vela on one of your outings. From Quepos you will head up the hill towards Manuel Antonio, make a right at Plaza Vista Commercial Center, follow this winding road to the very end (about a mile) and you will see the sprawling grounds of our resort.
