About this tour

A full-day guided trip to Carara National Park, known for scarlet macaws, with lunch and a stop at the Tárcoles River crocodiles.

A one-day guided trip to Carara National Park. Well-kept trails run through dense rainforest, where toucans, scarlet macaws and howler monkeys live.

Farther in, the trees get huge and the forest more complex. Watch for reptiles and amphibians, including the poison dart frog. Your naturalist guide explains why the park matters ecologically and what lives in it.

The last stop is the Tárcoles River, where crocodiles lie basking in the sun.
